As 2021 comes to a close, we want to tell you about some of the exciting things we’ve been working on.

This year, we continued expanding the Indigitization Toolkit to support communities in undertaking a wider range of digitization projects. New formats covered by the Indigitization Toolkit include VHS, Betamax, camcorder video, and open reel audio.

To complement the expanded toolkit, we started creating an online course with instructional videos and interactive materials.

Additionally, we began piloting a new program in collaboration with the BC Electronic Library Network to help make it easier for communities to store their digitized heritage materials in a safe place.

Finally, we built a new lending system to increase community access to audio/video recording equipment. We look forward to opening the lending system in 2022!
