The Indigitization Toolkit is a collection of resources to support and guide digitization projects in Indigenous communities. The Indigitization Toolkit also fits into the broader goal of providing support to First Nations communities in the management of their information.
The Toolkit is based on the Indigitization Program’s three pilot projects, and draws from the experiences of the three First Nations community partners involved. Digitization industry standards and sound practices also inform the Toolkit.
By supporting digitization projects and building capacity in First Nation communities, the Toolkit is a stepping stone in safe guarding future generations’ access to valuable community information as well as ensuring the long-term preservation of these resources.
